TikTok LIVE agency eligibility: what “not eligible” means

You invite a creator from LIVE Backstage and get “not eligible”. The usual reasons, how to tell them apart, and how to check before you invite so it stops happening.

You found a creator, wrote to them, they said yes, and the invitation from LIVE Backstage comes back with “not eligible”. Nothing tells you why. This guide lists the reasons agencies run into most, in the order they are worth checking, and how to avoid the message in the first place.

What “eligible” means here

Two sets of rules stack. TikTok has its own requirements for going LIVE at all (a minimum age and a follower minimum, both set by TikTok and changed by TikTok; check the current version in the app). On top of that, an agency can only sign a creator that TikTok places in the agency's region and that is free to join an agency. “Not eligible” means one of those checks failed. It does not say which.

The usual reasons, most common first

  • Already with an agency. The most common one. The creator may not know it, may have joined years ago, or may be in a leaving period. Ask them to look under their LIVE settings for an agency name.
  • Wrong region. TikTok assigns each account a region, and it is not always the country the creator lives in. Your agency covers a fixed set of regions; the creator has to be inside it.
  • Does not meet the LIVE requirements yet. Under the age minimum, under the follower minimum, or the account is too new for LIVE. Nothing you can do except wait.
  • Recently left another agency. A creator who left an agency is usually held for a period before they can join a new one.
  • Account restrictions. A live ban, a recent policy strike, or an account under review can block the invitation while it lasts.
  • The invitation itself expired or was sent to the wrong handle. Cheap to rule out; check it first.

How to tell them apart

Ask the creator three things: does an agency appear anywhere in their LIVE settings, what region does TikTok show for their account, and have they left an agency in the last few months. Three answers separate most of the cases. Region and follower count you can also read from the public profile without asking.

Check before you invite

Most “not eligible” results are avoidable. Before you write the first message, look at the public profile for the two things you can see (region signals, follower count) and the one thing you can infer (an agency tag or a manager contact in the bio). A creator who fails those is a conversation you do not need to start.

That is exactly the check our User Check bot runs. You send it a handle on Telegram, it reads what the profile already shows publicly and answers against the criteria you gave it (live days, hours, and whatever else you set). Nothing private is read, your dashboard is never exposed, and checks are not counted on any plan.

When it still happens

Note the handle and the date, and tell the creator plainly what the likely cause is. If it is a holding period or a follower minimum, put them on a list to invite again later. A creator you treated straight when the answer was no is the one who says yes in three months.

Frequently asked questions

Does “not eligible” mean the creator is banned?

Usually not. The most common cause is that the creator is already with an agency, followed by a region mismatch or not yet meeting TikTok's LIVE requirements. A restriction is one possible cause among several.

Can a tool tell me the exact reason?

No tool outside TikTok can read the reason TikTok did not give. What a check tool can do is rule out the causes visible on the public profile before you invite, so most invitations you send are ones that go through.
